Updates

1986 White CRX: Running like a champ again after another custom driveshaft event.  This time there was some machining involved to make the rollers fit the new tripod.  Special thanks to Tommy at C&S for donating machine work and "kaymo" from redpepperacing.com for donating axles parts.  I got to drive my car again when we came down from MI for a visit on 9/27.  I have to say I miss the sensations that could only be provided by forced induction.

1987 Black Civic Hatch: Having some overheating issues.  Beleived to be a blown headgasket.  If you ask me a swap is in order, but the budget may hold that idea at bay a little longer.

1993 Blue Del Sol: Installed a vacuum gauge in the stock cluster to replace the factory clock/roof warning lights.  Here's a hint for those interested (it is also a boost gauge) :P.  Finally got some busted bushings pressed out of the Integra rear lower control arms I've been saving (thanks again to Tommy at C&S).  Painted the arms black and saving up for some energy suspension bushings.

Cheap Trix Racing now has a BLOG!

Welcome friends and fans!

If you are reading this, you have found your way to CTR's new blog.  This will be the place for news updates and upcoming events information.  We have been pretty slack in the past about editing and updating our website, but we are all settled in the new locations and hope to stay a little more on top of things.  Stay tuned...

Justin's 87 Civic added to the site

I finally got around to adding a page for Justin's Civic hatch.  There's only a handful of pictures on there now as we havent made any mods yet, but when we do, you will be the first to know.  Follow the link from the project cars page, or go to cheaptrixracing.com/justin.

White Turbo CRX Update

Good and bad news again:

  • The CRX is running again.  The welded manifold adapter was replaced by a custom machined unit made by Tony.  Mike got everything bolted up and running like a top again.
  • The driveshafts are broken again.  Even the custom hybrid axles with integra hubs didnt hold up to the launch.  On the first pass, after a 1.87 60 ft, the driver's side axle let go at the hub WITH STREET TIRES!
  • Looks like we will be going back to the drawing board to come up with a more robust design.
